A short guide to the National Science Olympiad
What is the National Science Olympiad (OSN)?
OSN is an annual science competition for primary, junior high, and senior high students in Indonesia, organised by the National Achievement Centre (Puspresnas). Top national finalists can be coached further to represent Indonesia at international science olympiads.
At Presisi Academy, OSN training is designed per level and per field: concepts come first, then graded problems and official-style selection simulations.
OSN selection stages
- OSN-S (school): an internal selection where schools register their representatives per field.
- OSN-K (district/city): the first selection stage, open to students from schools across Indonesia.
- OSN-P (provincial): for the best students from the district/city stage, with deeper problems.
- OSN-N (national): the peak of the selection for top provincial scorers, which can include a semifinal and a final.
OSN fields we coach

Questions about OSN
01When should OSN preparation start?
As early as possible. Ideally a few months before OSN-K, so concepts can be built and practised step by step before moving on to selection-level problems.
02Can beginners join OSN training?
Yes. Training starts with a starting-skill diagnosis, so students who are new to OSN can follow from the basics.
03How do I choose the right OSN field?
Choose the field you enjoy most and score best in at school. Our team can help through a free consultation if you are unsure.
